Friends... Friends...

It's not any easy to understand the mysteries of friendship, but those with a devoted heart of being good friends have really got a clue or clues about this comprehensive subject.
Sometimes it seems greater than all the relationships we are connected to even by blood, while sometimes we are convinced by the saying "blood is thicker than water" as said or even known by many.

A friend told me that to get a good friend one has to sacrifice a lot, but somehow I felt this was not enough to describe the "friendship thing". In my opinion, "to keep a friend is a great sacrifice".
One sometimes needs something more than a "sorry", "Am praying that you'll make it..." or so just to keep a friend. Though easy to find, it's really true that keeping a friend isn't as easy, it's indeed expensive!

While I was young, I thought those who I treasured most were the people that will always be there, but experience has disapproved my thoughts... Today I know that I don't have to work as hard just to make sure I keep a friend... after all, who's working that hard to keep me around him or her? I just live my life within my means, help or encourage when I can, and stay silent when all fails.

But even still, nothing has given me much pleasure through the years as those words of appreciation comes from friends thanking me for being such a good friend... Their sincere words have many times encouraged me more than the thousands of efforts they make just to pay back every single effort I have made to see them through.

I love the company of friends... but be careful; sometimes their feelings and intensions toward you are not real...
