It all began recently, November to December 2010 until January 2011 after discussing political issues with a christian friend. We shared a number of issues about politics, the candidates and what they stand for.
The bottom line was a question;
"WHAT SHOULD A CHRISTIAN LOOK FOR IN A POLITICAL CANDIDATE BEFORE CASTING HIS VOTE?"
We suggested a number of things, some of which included;
- Truthfulness
- Morality
- Integrity
- Relevancy
These I found very appealing and satisfying, but below are some of those things I found to be way out of line;
- Religion
- Tribe
- Age
- Political Party
- Wealth, and so many more...
I wonder how a christian can vote for a leader based entirely on worldly things, things that God wont based on to approve any man. As a christian, be of the same mind like God, have a judgment like God so that every decision you make whether in your lifestyle, politics, religion or culture also wins approval from your God.
A day is coming when Christians will be ashamed of every wrong decision they made that was not in conformity with God's word; and I guess you would rather not be on of them.
It's indeed a shame to find a christian supporting a corrupt leader.
